# Server Rules and Changes
North Continuum is a free, community-driven Dual Universe server. All player
accounts are free. Donations are voluntary and go to server costs.
The schematics system and property costs are removed. Recipe crafting times
are increased 10x. Talents are learned 150x faster. Players can build up to
100 cores. Territory fees are low and charged annually.

# Mining
Legacy underground mining is available: use the hand scanner and hand mining
tool underground. Automining is also available: place mining units on
territories you own to extract ore over time. Some planets support both
(hybrid). The ore pool preview tool shows the automining ore distribution.

PvE
Pirates are available as PvE content, with loot and resources as rewards.

Getting Started
Register on the community website, create a player account, then log in to the
game. Avoid underscores and dashes in usernames and passwords. The server
replaces the NQ tutorial with its own onboarding: choose a starter vessel,
outpost and starter planet. You receive 250,000 quanta, 1 Territory Unit and
1 Sanctuary Territory Unit. A teleporter panel lets you change starter planet
for 10 minutes after onboarding.
