Alien War

Alien War – PvE Event on North Industries Legacy Mining

Alien War is a scheduled PvE event on the North Continuum / North Industries – Legacy Mining MyDU server. During this event, players fight hostile alien NPC ships at alien cores in space, earn valuable loot, and farm high-tier ore together in a coordinated server-wide activity.

Whether you’re looking for action, resources, or strategic opportunities, Alien War is one of the most important PvE events on the server.

What is Alien War?

Alien War takes place at the server’s alien cores – special constructs in space, one per core, each linked to specific plasma types.

At scheduled times, the Arkship detects alien activity at one or more of these cores. After a short warning phase, the Arkship launches an attack on the core, causing hostile NPC ships to spawn around it. Players can travel to the core, join the fight, destroy NPCs, and loot the wrecks.

Alien War events can be:

  • Recurring events (for example, every Friday and Saturday at a fixed time)

  • Special events (one-off events on a specific date and time)

The gameplay mechanics are the same for both – only the schedule changes.

How the event works

1. Scheduled start

Alien War events are planned in advance. Recurring events happen on specific weekdays and times, while special events are scheduled for a single date and time.

2. Warning phase (15 minutes before attack)

At the scheduled time, the server sends a warning message in general chat, such as:
“Arkship has detected alien activity on core [Core Name].”

This warning tells players that the attack will begin in 15 minutes, giving everyone time to prepare and travel.

3. Attack begins

Exactly 15 minutes after the warning, the Alien War starts.
The Arkship attacks the core, NPC ships spawn, and a second chat message is sent (for example:
“Attacking alien core [Core Name].”).

This is when the actual combat begins.

4. Multiple cores

Some Alien War events can trigger on multiple alien cores at once (for example, 1–3 cores).
The first core starts at the normal time, and additional cores begin a few minutes later, so not all battles start at the exact same second.

5. Core states: shield, lockdown, immunity

Alien cores have different states such as active, lockdown, or immunity.
After an event, a core may enter lockdown or immunity for a period of time. These states are controlled by the server and are clearly visible to players on the dashboard.

6. Event scripts

Each Alien War uses a server-side script that defines which NPCs spawn and how difficult the encounter is. Some events use a fixed script, while others randomly choose from a pool, keeping fights fresh and unpredictable.

Claiming an alien core – choosing sides

Alien War is not only about fighting for the Arkship. It also offers a unique opportunity to claim an alien core.

During the event, players can side with the aliens by:

  • Helping the aliens destroy the core, or

  • Defending alien NPC ships by attacking or distracting players who are fighting for the Arkship

If players successfully assist the aliens during the Alien War, this can result in the alien core becoming claimable. For players or organizations looking to secure control over a core, Alien War is one of the best and most reliable chances to make that happen.

This adds a strategic layer to the event: players must decide whether they want to farm loot, support the Arkship, or take the risk and fight against other players to help the aliens win.

Rewards and loot

Alien War is not just about the fight – it’s also about the rewards.

  • High-tier ore and valuable loot
The NPC ships that spawn during Alien War carry high-tier ore and other valuable items. Destroying these ships is one of the best ways to farm advanced resources.

  • Plasma-related gameplay
Alien cores are linked to Relic Plasma types (such as Plasma Unus, Duo, Tres, and more). While Alien War doesn’t change plasma mechanics directly, the events happen at these cores, making it easy to combine combat, loot farming, and core-related goals.

  • Shared PvE experience
Because Alien War happens at fixed times, it brings players together. You know when action is happening, where to go, and that others will be there too.

Where to find event information

Dashboard – Alien Cores

The server dashboard includes an Alien Cores section where players can see:

  • Core names and plasma types

  • Current core states (active, lockdown, immunity)

  • Countdown timers

  • A short Alien War description

  • The weekly Alien War schedule, including warning time and attack time

This is the best place to plan when to log in and prepare for upcoming events.

In-game chat

All Alien War warnings and attack announcements are sent to general chat, so even if you forget the schedule, you’ll know when an event is about to start.
